RELIEF WORK:-
® 3395 families were given kitchen utensils.
® 1298 families were given groceries.
® 745 families were given fresh vegetables
® 205 families of Mela Manakudy were given kerosene pump stoves.
® 732 school students were given school stationery items.
® 185 people from different villages were given sewing machines.
® 1997 people including 134 young people from different villages were given clothes.
® 56 school children from Kadiapattinam village were given school uniforms.
® 50 young men of Melamanakudi village attended four wheeler-driving classes and obtained permanent driving license.
® The young people of Manakudy and Singaravelan colony were supplied with advanced sports items.
® House hold furniture like cots cupboards were distributed.
® 6 young ladies were helped with different items such as bureau, jewels, cot, wedding clothes, grinder, etc. during their marriage.
® 129 families were supplied with 43 fishing nets of various types.
TAILORING INSTITUTE:-
· Running a tailoring institute at Manakudy and 42 young girls and poor ladies are learning.
BUILDING PROJECTS:-
· A home for mentally challenged children was constructed in October at Melamanakudi village.
· 57 cents of land has been bought at Sinclairpuri to establish Tsunami Rehabilitation Projects beginning with Fashion Technology as well as Computer training institute.
SUPPORT TO SCHOOL CHILDERN:-
· 22 girls have been admitted in Duthie school hostel and all their educational needs are being met by India YFC for the next three years.
MISCELLANEOUS-:
· 21 young girls were taken on a picnic to Trivandrum district.
· The girls of the Melamankudi Tailoring Institute went on a tour Bangalore and Mysore in September 2005.
· Four full time YFC staff are ministering to the Tsunami Hit Villages in Kanyakumari District
